Words of my life....

Round Two and Misc Hullaballoo

Round Two

This is my layout from Round Two of Star at ScrapStreet.com. TOTALLY loving these challenges that they keep creating. It really pushes the boundries of my creativity. If you click on the picture, it will take you to the actual site for more information on the layout. The journaling is hidden behind the title but that site will show you.

Thank you!

I am really blessed by all of my family and friends. You have provided me SO much support and the awesome, motivating words you keep giving pushes me miles forward. Due to your support, I placed in the top three for Round One. Thank you so much to all of you.

Memory Works - Craft Fair

Some of you know, most of you don't (mostly because I am not pushy about it at all) that I am a Memory Works consultant. For the FIRST time ever, I am actually going to try to sell product at a craft fair. I have never even done a party before! I have been a consultant for over a year now and have never really taken it beyond purchasing my own product at a deep discount. If you all ever want anything from the site, let me know and I will put in an order for you! Will probably set up a website here sometime but for now, I will just place it for you. The reason I love it so much is that they don't sell "Memory Works" product, they are a third party vender for the majority of the industry's hottest companys. You can check out their product here:

Memory Works

The Week Ahead...

So let's see, the craft fair is on Saturday...
my desk at work is completely buried because of the promotion we have going on...
I still need to go grocery shopping (payday is tomorrow - BILLS )...
Matthew has a birthday party to go to the same day as the craft fair (daddy duty)...
Couple of layouts that I need to finish...

Gonna be a long week.

Words of Wisdom...

To all my friends...

"Promise me you will always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think". - Christopher Robin to Pooh (A.A. Milne)

"A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future and accepts you just the way you are."

I love you all!

It's POTTY time!

I potty, you potty...

We are in the process of potty training our 2 year old right now. This adventure is one i was NOT prepared for. He is as STUBBORN as they come and right now he has basically decided he is not going to do this. So we will just keep trying but not forcing. Take one instance for prime example. He is standing on the other side of the computer room staring at me...grunts...and poops on the floor! Needless to say, I made him pick it up with paper towel and then I Lysoled the heck out of the floor, but good grief! Rich has informed me that the stubborness comes from my side of the family. (I am SO sure it's only my side )

Other notes of interest...

Plants:

Today I will be replanting my morning glories in our flower bed. Its a bit early to do it here, but they have outgrown my kitchen and are in need of more space. Poor things keep looking at me like I am the worst mom in the world.

ScrapStreet Star:

Contest officially kicked off on Friday with our first challenge. Round One was an AWESOME challenge by Dora. We were to take inspiration from 1-3 pictures chosen by us from Paris's Spring 2008 Fashion show. Ok, I am NO fashionista. Not at all. The majority of those clothes I would not consider fashion AT ALL. (Most look painful if anything) I may not have liked the photos but the challenge really jump started my mojo!

Progress:

I finished 3 layouts and 4 cards this weekend. THUD! That is an insane amount of scrapping for me in one weekend (well other than crop weekend)! Here are two of the pieces. One cannot be posted until May due to publishing rights :)

Here is the one from Round One of Star:

(You can read more about both of the layouts by clicking on the photos)

Here is one based on the Easter sketch at ScrapStreet.com:

Upcoming Vacation!:

We found out on Thursday that we will be taking a vacation around Memorial Day to visit Rich's parents in Washington!! YAY! I am SO totally excited to go visit again. Last time we were there was January of 2007 and everything was dormant. They own the most BEAUTIFUL property near Yakima. They actually raise and sell grapeplants for wine to vineyards all over the world! Their home is such a wonderful place to be and I feel so at home there. If you want more information on their nursery stock, you can find it here: Quality Nursery

OK that is about it for today's information. Hope everyone is gorging themselves on Easter candy and feeling miserable about it! LOL!

Words of wisdom:

"A beginning is only the start of a journey to another beginning."

Happy Easter everyone! He has risen!

New Website

Under construction!

"PREPARE to be AMAZED!" - Mike from "Meet the Robinson's"

Spring...

I LOVE the arrival of Spring. Here in Oklahoma it's not much a gradual change like it was back in Michigan. Let's compare the two:

Michigan:
You get months of snow...
A few days of warmth...
A few more weeks of snow...
A few days of warmth...
A day of snow...
Warmth...

Oklahoma:
A few months of cold weather...
One good freeze...
60 degree weather...
70 degree weather...
Summer...

Its very odd has taken some getting used to. I can honestly, 100%, say that I do not miss the snow. I miss the white at Christmas, but I do not miss the snow at all. Sorry to all my snow-bunny friends but I would not trade you. (Here I sit saying that and we will probably get PCS'd to Alaska now.)

Its finally getting warm here and we all want to be outside more, which is a mixed blessing. More time outside = less time scrapping. It's ok, I will have plenty of time for that soon.

ScrapStreet Star starts this coming Saturday (March 22nd)!! If you are interested in some friendly scrapping competition, join us here: Rules & Info. Check out all of the audition round entries here: Audition Gallery

COLOR of my life...

Color:

I LOVE color! My life totally revolves around this and music. And to be perfectly honest, I believe that both go hand in hand. When I hear music, I SEE colors. Soft and slow music makes me envision blues and greens, while fast, upbeat music pours reds, yellows and oranges into my subconscience!

Just like the pop of color off a picture...I adore layouts or pictures that are almost entirely black and white with one HUGE burst of color. Doesn't it just SING to you?!

Week in Review:

This week was long. Totally slipping on my diet but Weight Watchers is tomorrow morning and hopefully I can renew focus.

Diana and Ary are coming over tomorrow for a playdate with Matthew and I. Should be an AWESOME time! We are planning on taking TONS of pictures to use for the ScrapStreet.com Star Contest. We did this same contest last year but I almost feel like we have grown so much in the past year that we actually have a shot! Should be some "fierce" competition and a whole lot of inspiration for future layouts! If you get a chance, check out the audition gallery and you will see what I mean!

News:

-We found out recently that our next home will very likely be Fort Riley, KS. Can you say..."ut, oh, Toto?"
-Matthew has sprouted about 2 inches in the last two months and most of his clothes are almost too short for him but too big around the waist.
-Momma has taken his inches and added them to her waistline (not quite but it feels like it).
-Daddy will be away from us from June of this year until almost the end of November due to training. ::cry::
-Max refuses to be potty trained.
-Mojo thinks its funny.
-I have done a few layouts that I absolutely LOVE recently but cannot show you due to publishing :)
That is about all I have for now. This post has been brought to you by the letters "H" and "S" and also, the number "7". Thanks to Janneke who pointed out that I was continuing to depress people with my previous post (you were right LOL!). Now I leave you with some inspiring words from those who parted before us but left us with knowledge to live by:

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us." - Helen Keller

"The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." - Winston Churchill

Have a great weekend and remember to keep your eyes open for the possibility in anything. Remember this, God never takes something from us unless he is opening your hands for something better.
